Mechanical weeding with total respect for the environment
The presence of weeds is a problem that affects all crops: these unwanted plants can damage or completely ruin your crops, as they steal precious nutrients from the soil and can suffocate seedlings, especially in the early stages after planting.
However, the use of pesticides can cause various problems, first of all soil pollution: this is precisely why CO.ME.B Srl has designed and developed mechanical weed control solutions for the soil. Choose our machines, such as inter-row milling machines, rotary tillers and stone burier machines, to ensure the healthy growth of your crop, without having to rely on harmful products.

Our headquarters are located in Budrio, in the province of Bologna: however, we are active throughout Italy and abroad, with several retailers.
The damage of plant protection products
Pesticides are part of a category of products known as plant protection products, whose purpose is to kill any harmful organisms that could compromise the health and growth of crops. More specifically, the herbicides act on weeds, killing them and preventing their regrowth in the cultivated field.
The use of herbicides and pesticides in general, however, has several negative consequences on the environment: first of all, the chemical compounds and substances contained in these products can remain in the soil for many years because they are only partially absorbed by the plants that are to be removed. If these herbicides are then used every year, these substances can accumulate, leading to a serious ecological imbalance: the soil becomes less fertile or even uncultivable, ruining even hectares at once.

The right choice for the environment and for your company
But this is not the only problem with the use of pesticides: they can also be absorbed by the plants you want to grow and can infiltrate deep into the groundwater, causing damage to local flora and fauna, livestock and even humans. Additionally, soil that is full of harmful chemicals cannot absorb water well, leading to a phenomenon known as “runoff”; even untreated fields can be affected by this problem because pesticides can become airborne and fall to the ground with rain.
Soil can take decades or centuries to recover, leading to truly catastrophic damage for farmers, the industry as a whole, and the entire food sector.
